This visual representation relies on data from the collaborative Henley Global Citizens Report and New World Wealth to determine the most affluent cities globally. It utilizes an extensive dataset that monitors the behavior and financial expenditures of wealthy individuals in more than 150 cities worldwide.

In the most recent version of the list, North America exhibits a significant presence with a total of seven cities housing a high number of millionaires. Notably, the United States boasts five cities within the top 10, with New York City securing the coveted first position.

Asia is the area where the second highest number of millionaires reside, with a total of six cities included. It comes as no surprise that three of these cities belong to China, and that includes Hong Kong (SAR).

Europe ranks third with a total of five cities, although only London manages to secure a place within the top 10 rankings. In contrast, Oceania claims two cities on the list, both situated in Australia.

The California Chamber of Commerce presents its yearly "job destroyer" roster, boasting an impressive reputation for thwarting proposed legislation, making other industry associations quite envious. According to their calculations, merely 58 out of the 824 bills classified as "job killers" from 1997 to 2022 managed to be enacted without meeting the Chamber's desired alterations.

Just like their counterparts in California, homebuilders also have a set of housing bills that they strongly disagree with. However, this list is not as widely recognized and has a shorter duration.

The bills referred to as the "housing killers" by the California Building Industry Association are proposed laws that, according to them, could exacerbate the housing crisis by raising expenses, prolonging construction timelines, and introducing additional obstacles in the process of home construction.

In the ongoing session, there are six bills on the list. One of them is Assembly Bill 68, which aims to make the approval process for "climate smart" urban housing more efficient. However, according to the association, this measure would significantly raise housing expenses as it solely permits the construction of costly multi-family high rise homes.

The way frigid temperatures impact the mind, stimulating increased hunger.

Scientists at Scripps Research have discovered neural pathways in the brain that encourage animals to increase their food consumption upon exposure to low temperatures.

Mammals naturally consume more energy in order to keep their body temperature stable when they are in a cold environment. This increase in energy usage due to the cold also causes them to feel hungrier and eat more, but how this process is controlled has not been understood until now. A recent study published in Nature on August 16, 2023, revealed that a group of neurons act as a "switch" that triggers the food-seeking behavior in mice when they are exposed to cold. This finding has the potential to pave the way for new treatments for metabolic health and weight loss.
