Oceania's New Cruise: 5 Scenic Things To Love

Cruise ship

Erica Silverstein received a free trip from Oceania Cruises to see Vista. She wrote her own opinions and no one checked them.

Oceania Cruises introduced its first new ship in ten years, Vista, on Monday. The ship is a perfect representation of the brand, with a focus on high-end dining. I spent a week trying out all the different dining options on the ship, sitting in comfortable nooks, and testing new cocktail menus. My experience was fantastic.

There's a new cruise ship, and it can hold 1,200 people. That's the first new one from Oceania in 10 years. Before, they had four ships that held 684 people that were built in the '90s. Then, they made two ships just for them that can hold 1,238 people in 2011 and 2012.

Vista is a new ship from the Allura class. It's not too different from the last two ships. Vista is fancy and well-designed, like the Regent Seven Seas Cruises ships. Guests wonder if Vista is a luxury cruise ship.

The ship called Vista will go to the Mediterranean in spring and summer. It will also go to the Caribbean in winter. In the fall, Vista will visit Canada and New England. It will also make two trips through the Panama Canal.

I have five things that belonged to Vista and I think you'll like them, too.

"Creating Public Spaces With Great Design"

Come aboard Vista ship and you'll be amazed by its stunning appearance. The atrium features an amazing floor-to-ceiling sculpture with a changing light show. Wherever you gaze, there are wonderfully designed spaces with rich textures. When I boarded, I couldn't resist touching everything, from the raised designs on the elevator walls to the comfortable velvets on couches in the lounges.

The Grand Dining Room is white and has gold paintings of willow trees on the walls and a center archway that makes the space feel cozier. The Privee dining room has a cool ceiling design and fantastic food. The specialty restaurants each have a unique look that matches their theme. Ember has brick oven-inspired ceilings and Red Ginger has pagoda-style lamps on the floor.

The Atrium on Oceania's Vista ship is the focus of this blog. It's a luxury cruise ship. The ship has many amenities like dining options and entertainment. The Atrium is a central area that's open to the sky. It's a beautiful spot where guests can relax. The Vista ship will take you to many destinations like Europe and South America. If you love to travel, this ship is a great option.

I like two places on the cruise ship. The Grand Lounge is one and it has pretty lights and pretty things to look at. The pool deck is my other favorite. It looks fancy because they used fake wood. There are also little spots with comfy beds that make me feel like I'm at a resort.

The Vista staterooms by Oceania are impressive. The design is both beautiful and practical.

The little cabins are only 240 square feet. You can't go outside on the French balcony, but you can open the doors for fresh air. My room was bigger, though. It came with a balcony and was 291 square feet total. That's enough space to stretch out.

When I'm on a ship, I check the storage first. Oceania has good storage on the Vista ship. While there aren't walk-in closets, there is a good-sized closet and two big drawers by the desk. The nightstands have three drawers each. The bathrooms are great - some of the best on any ship. They're roomy and have lots of shelves and drawers. The shower is huge and has two shelves for soap and shampoo.

We can choose the best cabin on a cruise ship by considering several important factors. The cabin's location is one major consideration, as cabins near the engine can be noisy and those on the lower decks can feel the ship's movement more. Additionally, the size of the cabin, amenities provided, and the type of view offered are all significant factors to consider when choosing a cabin on a cruise ship. It's also important to consider the type of cruise and the activities one will be participating in, as this can affect the cabin choice. Choosing the right cabin can greatly impact the overall experience and enjoyment of a cruise.

The cabins have many plugs for electronics, near the bed and desk. Drawers close quietly even in rough seas. Wooden hangers make your clothes look nice. Cabins have water, blankets, and mini fridges with soda. Balcony furniture is comfy.

I really liked the six new solo cabins on Vista. They are smaller and have only one bed. Even though the bathroom is smaller, they still have a sitting area with a love seat and a big balcony. The cabins are great for solo travelers who enjoy being outside.

Mixology: Craft Cocktails Program

Vista has an impressive mixology program. I only experienced half of it so far. More will be offered on upcoming cruises.

There's a new bar called The Founders Bar and it's hidden behind the casino. It's become really popular because of its unique drinks. They use new and interesting things like smoke, herbs, and dried fruit. They also have flavor bubble guns, frozen fruit balls, and perfume spritzers. All of these things add extra scent and flavor to the drinks.

The drinks are unique and very attractive. They also taste amazing. If regular customers enjoy them like the media and travel agents on my ship, Oceania may need a larger venue for the Founders Bar on their new ship, Allura.

Vista has non-alcoholic "liquors' for mocktails that taste like real cocktails, not just fruit smoothies. The "dark and spicy" mocktail tasted like a real "dark and stormy." But, not all bars have them on the menu. You can find them at Aquamar restaurant, Horizons observation lounge, and Founders if you ask.

Aquamar is a dining place in Vista that I like. It is now open for breakfast and lunch. The person in charge of sales at Vista came up with the idea for Aquamar. The idea came from a lack of dining spaces for people wanting smaller meals.

You can find lots of breakfast options like lattes, smoothies, eggs, banana pancakes, and energy bowls. They also have avocado toast. For lunch, you can choose from poke bowls, salads with falafel wraps, crunchy chicken burgers, and tuna tacos. You can drink fresh juices that have turmeric and ginger or nonalcoholic cocktails that taste like the real thing.

You may have to wait a bit for your sit-down meal, unlike the buffet. However, there's plenty of space and natural light thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows. During peak lunch hours, it can get busy, but I always found a table while there for breakfast or lunch.

Ember is a trendy American restaurant on Vista. It's a popular venue. The restaurant is upscale, but the meals are not formal or lengthy like in Polo Grill steakhouse.

The place looks like a brick oven. The ceiling has a brick design and the tables are made of fake wood. The fireplace is not real, it's just colored water vapor. But I still got scared when someone put their hand in it.

The spinach-artichoke dip was popular and people loved the sashimi tuna. The lobster macaroni and cheese was the best and had a big lobster piece in it. My herb-crusted chicken was surprisingly good. Some people liked the French dip and the steak. However, my friend's cheeseburger fell apart and he had to eat it with cutlery, but he still enjoyed it.

At Ember restaurant, you can enjoy delicious appetizers. This restaurant is located on Oceania's Vista. Erica Silverstein from The Points Guy took a photo of the appetizers.

If you plan to eat at Ember, you should avoid lunch. The reason is the triple chocolate brownie sundae dessert is irresistible.

Ember takes over for Jacques, a popular French restaurant on Oceania's Marina and Riviera ships. Good news for fans, some of Jacques Pépin's dishes are still on the Grand Dining Room menu. Ember brings balance to Vista's restaurant options, which already include pan-Asian Red Ginger, Italian Toscana, and steakhouse Polo Grill. For Americans on longer sailings, Ember offers a taste of home.

Vista is like Marina and Riviera, but better. Visitors will recognize the layout. Oceania made small changes to improve the ship. Cabins, drinks, and restaurants are new and great.
