Ford is issuing a recall for over 870,000 recently manufactured F-150 pickup trucks in the United States. The reason behind this recall is that the electric parking brakes may activate without warning, leading to potential accidents where drivers may lose control of their vehicles and collide.

The product recall pertains to specific trucks produced between 2021 and 2023, equipped with single exhaust systems.

This marks the company's third product recall within the past two months, however, it is the initial one concerning Ford's F-Series pickups, which hold the title of being the most popular vehicles in the United States.

According to the documents shared by safety regulators on Friday, the company has stated that there is a possibility of the rear wiring bundle making contact with the rear axle housing.

This can irritate the wiring and lead to an electrical malfunction, resulting in the parking brake activating on its own, thereby elevating the possibility of a collision.

More than 870,000 recently manufactured F-150 pickup trucks by Ford are being subject to a recall in the United States due to the potential issue of the electric parking brakes suddenly activating without warning. This unexpected activation could lead to the loss of control for drivers, resulting in possible crashes.

Motorists might notice an alert symbol and a cautionary notification concerning the parking brake on the instrument panel.

According to the information provided by Ford in their records, they have received a total of 918 warranty claims and have encountered three instances of wire chafing in the North American region.

Out of the total, 299 instances revealed a sudden engagement of the parking brake, out of which 19 occurred while the trucks were in motion.

The company states that there have been no reported incidents of crashes or injuries resulting from the issue.

Dealers will examine the wiring system located at the back of the vehicle.

If the protective tape becomes damaged, the harness will be replaced. However, if the tape remains intact, dealers will proceed to install a protective tie strap accompanied by a tape wrap.

Beginning September 11, a written communication will be sent out to inform the proprietors.

This summer, the car maker has had to issue a recall in the United States once again, marking a repetition of previous incidents.

The corporation has issued a recall on over 125,000 automobiles due to concerns that engine malfunctions could potentially lead to fires. This is in addition to a previous recall made a few days prior, which affected over 140,000 different vehicle models.

The NHTSA has officially announced a recall that affects a total of 86,656 Ford Escapes manufactured between 2020 and 2023, along with 35,501 Ford Mavericks produced between 2022 and 2023, and 3,165 Lincoln Corsairs made between 2021 and 2023.

The announcement was made several days later following Ford's plea to the owners of over 140,000 SUVs to refrain from parking them indoors due to the potential risk of spontaneous combustion, regardless of whether the engine is turned off.

The alarming notice requested that the automobiles, specifically the Lincoln MKC from the years 2015-19, should also be removed from the roads. This occurred mere days after the Michigan-headquartered automaker recalled over 175,000 Bronco SUVs from the 2021-23 models due to a seat belt problem.

According to documents released by government safety regulators on Friday, the company has stated that there is a risk of the rear wiring bundle making contact with the rear axle housing.

According to records provided by Ford, they have received a total of 918 warranty claims as well as three field reports concerning wire chafing issues in North America.

The company, which operates manufacturing facilities in both the United States and Mexico, has initiated a recall due to apprehensions regarding the placement of a battery monitoring sensor on their recently released vehicles. Such positioning increases the vulnerability of this component to potential harm during the repairing process.

According to the recall statement from Ford, they mentioned that the issues regarding the under hood fires were brought to the attention of their Critical Concern Review Group (CCRG).

The CCRG proceeded to conduct inquiries into the fires during the months of March, April, and May. However, they have not been able to ascertain the sources of the fires yet. Nevertheless, the recall notice highlights that the fires did start in close proximity to the 12-volt batteries of the vehicles.

People who own SUVs that are affected will be sent a letter notifying them about the recall, which is scheduled to begin on June 26.

In order to resolve the problem, car dealerships will place a fuse on the power circuit of the battery monitor sensor.
