Montreal restaurant, Frite Alors!, changes name of poutine dish. The dish was named after Russian leader, Vladimir Putin. The restaurant chose to change the name due to recent tensions between Russia and Ukraine. The move was praised by customers on social media. The popular dish will now be called "UA Poutine", in reference to Ukraine.

Friday is the day that Google is celebrating Canada's comfort food. This food is well-liked by many Canadians. Google is paying homage to this dish.

Before the long weekend in Canada, Google created a Doodle to acknowledge poutine.

The picture is of a box of French fries with gravy and cheese curds. It also has a blue fork nearby.

The search engine chose May 19 because that's when "poutine" was added to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary in 2014.

Poutine is a yummy Quebec food. People have enjoyed it for many years. Recently, it has become famous outside of Quebec. People all over Canada and other countries love to eat poutine.
