Jeff Bezos’s Yacht Remains the Best Place to See and Be Seen

Jeff Bezos made a lavish purchase by acquiring a massive vessel named Koru. It's said that the creation of the boat alone amounted to a staggering $500 million. This event has gained a fair amount of attention in the maritime world recently, either ranking second or third, depending on how invested one is in topics such as orcas or underwater vehicles.

Regrettably, I cannot verify this based on my own personal experience, however, it is logical to assume that those who possess an exorbitant amount of wealth are seeking to make a substantial purchase. Many of these individuals appear to arrive at the same decision: investing in a yacht. Obtaining a yacht is an incredibly alluring prospect since it allows one to spend money without anticipating any return on investment. These people are unable to resist the temptation of the sea's enchanting voice.

If you want to be in the spotlight or just enjoy the view, yachts are the perfect place to be. Picture yourself standing on the deck, looking out into the vast ocean. Sometimes you can see land in the distance, other times there's nothing but the edge of the world. It's a breathtaking sight.

Somehow, the paparazzi always manage to track you down. For example, take Lauren Sanchez, the fiancée of Bezos, the man ranked as the third wealthiest person on Earth. She and her soon-to-be spouse have been sailing in the Mediterranean for about a month now and have been captured in numerous photos. The most recent photos were taken during the weekend in St. Tropez, France.

On this occasion, Sanchez was captured on camera on a vessel alongside surfer Laird Hamilton and a group of individuals. According to reports from The Daily Mail, Bezos was also making the most of one of the smaller boats, which was a speedboat, with Hamilton and some others, even though no pictures of that have been released. Later on, the paparazzi managed to capture Sanchez taking off in a helicopter from the support yacht of Koru, which is worth a massive $75 million and is named Abeona.

The paparazzi often take some of the most iconic celebrity photos from boats out on open waters. Princess Diana on a yacht diving board is one such image that comes to mind. Leonardo DiCaprio on a yacht is also a common photography subject. The sheer volume of photos of him on boats could fill a coffee table book. Celebrities like LeBron James, Beyoncé, and Timothée Chalamet and Lily-Rose Depp have all been caught in some candid moments while on boats. Aside from the red carpet, boats are perhaps the best spot to witness celebrities being themselves in the great outdoors.

Except for one thing: lasers. In the height of paparazzi trouble in 2009, there were rumors that Roman Abramovich, a Russian billionaire, equipped his yacht, Eclipse, with technology that would prevent photographers from taking pictures by using lasers to destroy camera lenses. Evidently, if you have enough money, you can buy your own privacy.

When most people with a lot of money purchase a yacht, they see it as purchasing a platform to showcase their wealth. Despite recent criticism about the pollutants in the water, the most popular club for billionaires around the world is still the vast ocean. Buying a large boat comes with many benefits, but it does not guarantee complete privacy.
