The company that made the toys with the design of Baby Shark has had to take back over 7 million items because the solid top fins of the toy could hurt someone badly. They could cause stab wounds, cuts, or punctures.

According to a recent statement from the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), there's a recall of bath toys known as Robo Alive Junior Baby Shark Sing & Swim. Around 6.5 million regular-sized toys and a million mini-versions have been recalled. Every toy has a top fin made of hard plastic that sports three grooves on one side.

The company informed that they received 12 reports regarding children experiencing accidents while playing with its regular-sized toys; some of them falling or sitting on them. These incidents caused harm, such as impalement injuries, lacerations, and puncture wounds to sensitive body parts of children, such as genitals, anus, and face. A total of nine injuries were severe enough to require stitches or medical assistance. However, the small version of the toys did not cause any injury so far, according to the company's statement.

The toys under recall are solely those that possess hard plastic fins. To verify if a toy is part of the recall, simply observe the fin and check if it is composed of hard plastic material with three grooves. You can also inspect the bottom part of the toy for further confirmation: Full-sized toys affected by the recall contain a model number "#25282" and a date code that starts with the letters "DG" and then followed by "YYYY/MM/DD." These toys' date ranges fall between DG20190501, or January 5, 2019, through DG20220619, or June 19, 2022.

The mini toys that have been taken off the market have certain model numbers that are listed as "#7163," "#7175," "#7166," or "#25291," along with a date code that begins with "DG" and is followed by "YYYY/MM/DD". This date code must fall within the time period of DG2020615 (which translates to June 15, 2020) and DG2023525 (which means May 25, 2023).

The playthings were available for purchase at various well-known merchants, such as Walmart, CVS, Dollar General, Target, and numerous others. Additionally, the toys were made available on the internet, including through Amazon.

Individuals who possess the toys that are called back can reach out to the maker to obtain a reimbursement. The seller has stated that to obtain a refund, which is $14 for the normal size and $6 for the mini size, and will come in a prepaid virtual credit card form, individuals must alter the fin by cutting or bending it, inscribe the term "recalled," and add other details concerning the recall on the shark's body. They must then take a photo of this and forward it to the manufacturer.
