TOMY is issuing a recall for approximately 85,000 Boon Flair & Flair Elite highchairs.

The highchairs known as the Boon Flair and Flair Elite are currently being recalled by the Consumer Product Safety Commission. These products can be found in various stores including Bed, Bath & Beyond, Target, and Toys 'R' Us, as well as online platforms like Amazon, Target, Walmart, and Bed, Bath & Beyond.

The product recall, which affects a total of 17 different models, has been initiated because the company discovered that the bolts used to fasten the seat of the highchair to the base can loosen over time. This could lead to the seat becoming detached from the base, creating a risk of falling. You can find the model number and manufacturing date code printed on a label underneath the base of the highchair.

TOMY has received a total of 34 notifications regarding the detachment of the chair from its base to this point in time. Out of these 34 reports, there were 24 incidents where individuals unexpectedly fell due to the separation, leading to 11 cases of harm, like minor bruises or scratches.

The Flair baby chairs come with a pedestal base made of gray plastic and were available in 10 different color combinations. These combinations include blue and white, white and orange, pink and white, green and white, gray and green, pure white, simply gray, white and gray, white and blue, as well as red and white.

Customers are advised to cease using the recalled highchairs promptly and reach out to TOMY in order to obtain a complimentary repair kit. This kit contains a collection of bolts, split washers, and flat washers, which can effectively fix the problematic highchair. The Flair Elite, priced at approximately $380, was available on the market from 2008 to 2009. Similarly, the Flair models, ranging from $230 to $250 in price, were sold from January 2008 to February 2017.
