Delta flight touches down at North Carolina airport without front landing gear

On Wednesday morning, a passenger plane operated by Delta Air Lines had an unconventional incident upon arrival. The aircraft touched down without the deployment of its front landing gear.

Delta Air Lines Flight 1092 touched down at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) in Charlotte, N.C., at around 8:40 am local time following its morning takeoff from Atlanta. When the aircraft reached its destination, it came to a halt facing the tarmac.

According to an official statement from the airport, the airplane is unable to take off because of technical difficulties. The airport has consequently shut down the runway and is currently making efforts to relocate the aircraft. Fortunately, no injuries were reported and the passengers have been transported to the terminal by bus.

The media representatives of Charlotte Douglas International Airport stated that they anticipate experiencing "disruptions in operations" as a result of the closure of the runway.

After the incident, the airport published a tweet, notifying that Runway 18R/36L had been shut down due to a technical problem with Delta Air Lines.

CLT has sent out a tweet informing passengers to contact their airline prior to arriving at the Airport, as there is a runway closure. It is important to confirm the current status of their flight arrangements.

Delta Air Lines expressed the same views as the airport and issued their own message, emphasizing that no one was hurt and offering apologies to their passengers on the flight.

Delta expressed that the safety of their customers and employees is their utmost priority. Although this is an infrequent event, the flight crews of Delta undergo comprehensive training to handle various situations, ensuring the safe descent of flight 1092 without any reported injuries. Delta also extended its apologies to their customers for the inconveniences caused.

According to the official statement of Delta Air Lines, there were no reported cases of physical harm, and the company sincerely expressed regret towards the passengers aboard the affected flight.

The Federal Aviation Administration issued a caution about a growing number of delays occurring after the incident, lasting anywhere from 31 to 45 minutes.

In the beginning of May, a flight belonging to Delta Air Lines was postponed on its way to Atlanta from Houston because a group of bees latched onto the edge of the plane's wing.

"Believe it or not, Delta flight 1682 on May 3 from Houston-Bush to Atlanta experienced a delay because a friendly swarm of bees seemed interested in having a conversation with the winglet of one of our airplanes. Undoubtedly, they wanted to exchange information about the current flying conditions at the airport," the airline informed FOX Business.
