A Delta flight had to change course after a passenger on the aircraft experienced diarrhea "throughout the entire plane."

On Friday evening, during a two-hour journey from Atlanta to Barcelona, the pilot requested permission to return.

In a recorded video shared on X (previously referred to as Twitter) from LiveATC.com, a pilot can be heard informing air traffic control about the incident, stating: "There was a situation involving a biohazard on board. We had a passenger who experienced continuous diarrhea throughout the entire aircraft, so they are requesting us to return to Atlanta."

Flight 194 was compelled to promptly change direction and return to its initial departure point due to being labeled a "biohazard" by the crew, thus preventing further progress on the journey.

The aircraft landed at Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport around 10:40 pm in order to address the mess caused by diarrhea on board.

After a duration of more than five hours, precisely at 3am, the airplane resumed its journey towards Barcelona, embarking on an extensive eight-hour flight.

A person using X platform left a comment below the shared video stating that they and their spouse were also aboard that particular flight. According to them, it was quite chaotic. The pilots wisely chose to reverse their path, and the airport staff swiftly replaced the carpet with a fresh one. Taking into account the difficulties faced, the ground crew, along with the flight attendants and pilots, performed admirably.

The flight strip provided by the FAA transmitted information about the crew's situation during the incident happening on the aircraft.

An additional individual also received firsthand accounts from their companion who happened to be on a journey to Barcelona on that specific day. The description provided by the acquaintance depicted the situation as rather unpleasant. According to their recollection, the substance had dripped along the aisle and emitted a terrible odor. The inclusion of a vanilla-scented disinfectant only succeeded in transforming the smell into something akin to vanilla excrement. Once the aircraft had safely touched down, a comprehensive cleaning was carried out. The delay lasted until approximately 2:30 in the morning.

It remains uncertain whether the passenger who had a health problem went back to the Spain-bound flight following the diversion.

Delta Air Lines, without providing detailed information, addressed the issue and stated: "Our teams acted swiftly and safely to meticulously sanitize the aircraft and ensure that our customers reach their intended destination. We deeply regret the delay and inconvenience caused to our valued customers in their travel arrangements," Delta expressed in an official declaration.

The airline reported that an incident of intense turbulence occurred on a Delta flight from Milan to Atlanta, resulting in the hospitalization of 11 passengers and crew members last week.
