The Prime Minister of Vietnam wants people to prevent wildfires. Heatwaves are happening in many places of the country. This makes the danger of wildfires go up.

The Prime Minister sent a message to leaders of different groups. The message talks about regions having heatwaves. These regions are in the north, central, and southwest. The temperature in some places reaches 40 degrees Celsius.

Some places in Vietnam have had forest fires, like Hòa Bình, Sơn La, Điện Biên, Lai Châu, Quảng Nam, and Lâm Đồng. The fires have caused a lot of damage. This information comes from a report.

The prime minister wants the leaders of local areas to take charge to stop wildfires. The goal is to lower the amount of damage from wildfires. The chairpersons of the people’s committees must take responsibility. They will work in provinces and centrally-run cities.

He suggested that we should intensify inspections and supervisions to prevent and control wildfires. It is important to review the staff and equipment available, and to develop plans for preventing and controlling wildfires. Local authorities need to prioritize this task.

During the dry season and hot days, relevant forces must work non-stop. The leader emphasized this.

He said it's important for places to train forest rangers better. They need to know how to manage forests and prevent fires. In addition, they should communicate better with the public to raise awareness about the issue.

The Prime Minister said to watch weather forecasts and wildfire warnings. They should tell the Forest Protection Department if they see a fire. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development runs the department.

MARD had to instruct and organise wildfire prevention and control all over the country. National Defence and Public Security ministries will check plans for wildfire prevention and control in the places where their units are and be prepared to help with firefighting if needed. Forces and equipment can be called up anytime.

The weather forecasts will be good. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment will make sure of it. The Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Ministry of Finance will help with money. They will work with the MARD.
