2023 Taklimakan Rally Conquerors Triumph At The Podium!
In Hotan, China, the Rally started in Aksu on May 20th. There were 97 autos and 37 motorcycles that took part. Out of those, 76 autos and 31 motos made it to the finish line. They endured a lot of challenges.

The 2023 Taklimakan Rally is on for 13 days. It is the 15th edition. The stage has 1 SSS, 9 stages, and 2 rest days. The rally covers Aksu, Kashgar, and Hotan. It is in the south-west of Xinjiang. There are 4258 km in total. The rally has a mix of terrains. The scenery is eye-catching. There are 231 participants from China and other countries.
The auto category has a winner, Zi Yungang/Wang Zengrong from Shanxi Yunxiang Team. BAIC team also made it to the podium with Zhang Guoyu/Oriol Mena Valdearcos and Liu Yangui/Chen Feng taking 2nd and 3rd place respectively.
Bradley John Cox and Arunas Gelazninkas did well on their moto and won 1st and 2nd place for Shanxi Yulin team. Local driver Yakepu came in 3rd and Neels Theric and Shi Haoyu from KOVE followed.
The Taklimakan Rally started 15 years ago and is now the biggest off-road rally in Asia. It's held in Xinjiang and not just a race, but a showcase for the area's natural beauty. In 2016, they had their first overseas promotion in Paris and it went well. Xinjiang is open to both racers and tourists, the west pearl of China.
Zi Yungang and Wang Zengrong, both from China, finished the Yun Xiang race in 34 hours, 16 minutes, and 9 seconds.
Zhang Guoyu and Oriol Mena Valdearcos from China and Spain respectively, driving for the BAIC team, finished 5 minutes and 30 seconds behind the leader.
Liu Yangui and Chen Feng from China's BAIC team finished the race with a time of 53 minutes and 58 seconds.
Xu Aili and Tong Zhenrong from China won the Hilux race in +2H58’05".
Liu Yatuan and Yan Ke from China finished the SMG race in three hours, twenty minutes, and fifty-eight seconds.
Bradley John Cox from South Africa rides for KTM. His total time in the race is 24 hours, 28 minutes, and 5 seconds.
Arunas Gelazninkas from Lithuania finished with a time of 34 minutes and 30 seconds. He competed in the KTV event.
Yakepu from China finished the KTM race in 1 hour and 49 minutes.
Neels Theric from France finished the race with a time of +2 hours, 11 minutes and 10 seconds.
Shi Haoyu from China finished the KOVE race in 2 hours, 17 minutes, and 36 seconds.
