2 Win Big On Durham Lotto Draw

Two people from Durham Region have won the lottery and are now celebrating.

Niki Bainbridge, aged 76, from Beaverton, matched the last six out of seven numbers in the correct order during the May 5th Lotto Max draw.

She made $100,000 from it.

She won at Fisher's Your Independent Grocer on Beaver Avenue in Beaverton.

Bainbridge used to deal at a casino. She said she's won before, but this time it's her biggest win ever.

After calling OLG's phone number, she found out about her big win.

"I shared it with my family, but they didn't believe me," she explained. "After some time, they finally trusted me and everyone was thrilled!"

She wants a new TV. It will be bigger. She might also give money to loved ones.

David Leger, aged 57 from Whitby, won $66,982 on May 8. He played Poker Lotto and got lucky!

He said there were only a few people at the place. The person at the cash register was unaware of what was going on.

During the interview, Leger thought about buying gifts for his family. He hadn't told them about the win yet.

He said that they would believe it's a joke, but it will be a pleasant shock.

He said it feels great to win. He is still waiting for it to feel real.

A person bought a lucky ticket at a Petro Canada on Baldwin Street in Whitby.
