Musk has a total of nine children – three with Grimes and six with his previous partner, Canadian writer Justine Wilson.

Musk and Wilson welcomed their first child together named Nevada Alexander in 2002. Sadly, their newborn son passed away due to sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) when he was just 10 weeks old.

Afterwards, the previous couple had two children named Vivian Jenna Wilson and Griffin. Court documents obtained by PEOPLE reveal that one of Musk's 18-year-old twins has initiated the process of legally changing their name and gender, and also mentioned that they no longer want any relationship with their father.

In 2006, three bouncing babies were welcomed by Wilson - Kai, Saxon, and Damian. This occurred two years following the birth of their previous set of twins.

In November 2021, Musk had another set of twins named Strider and Azure with Shivon Zilis in secret. Insider released court documents on July 6 revealing this information. The twins were born in Austin, Texas, which was only a few weeks before Musk and Grimes welcomed their daughter into the world.

Last month, Grimes spoke with Wired and shared some information about co-parenting with Musk. She mentioned that they're currently trying to figure out how they will educate their children.

"I am deeply invested in maintaining a positive and strong bond with my children. I am confident in my ability to effectively navigate the responsibilities of parenting, which include balancing discipline with an approachable and supportive demeanor," she explained. "It is possible that my children may disagree with our family values and traditions, but I am optimistic that this will not be the case."
