Hyundai will introduce its latest marketing campaign for the 2024 Kona and Kona EV 1 during the football season opener on Thursday, September 7, which will be broadcasted on NBC and Peacock.

Angela Zepeda, the Chief Marketing Officer of Hyundai Motor America, expressed her belief that the debut of the new Kona and Kona EV advertising campaign was best showcased during the Football Kickoff game. She stated that Sunday night football has consistently been the most-watched prime-time show on TV for the past 12 years, attracting an average of 19.9 million viewers in 2022. This year, Hyundai is expanding its sports sponsorships to include Thursday football games on Amazon Prime, effectively doubling the anticipated audience for their ads. Zepeda emphasized the importance of reaching viewers wherever they may be, as there are numerous platforms for consuming sports content nowadays.

Kona National Marketing Campaign Nowadays, more and more American companies are requiring their employees to return to the office for work. This means that many people who drive are going back to their regular daily commute, whether they want to or not. Hyundai has responded to this by launching a 60-second commercial called " Welcome Back to the Commute ". The goal of this advertisement is to welcome drivers back onto the road with the newly released Kona and Kona EV models. The commercial showcases the outstanding safety and user-friendly technology features of these vehicles that can help make the daily commute less stressful. These features include easy-to-use navigation, BlueLink+ 2 for convenient connectivity, the ability to unlock the car using your phone with Digital Key 2 3 , and Remote Smart Parking Assist 4 .

The Kona marketing strategy was created in partnership with Hyundai's official advertising firm, INNOCEAN USA, while Canvas, the media agency, managed the purchasing of media.

Jason Sperling, INNOCEAN's Chief Creative Officer, acknowledged that the pandemic has undeniably altered our work lives. Nevertheless, we find ourselves at the precipice of another wave of change as numerous companies insist on employees returning to the office. The term "commute" evokes a mix of emotions for different individuals – excitement, nostalgia, eagerness, and anxiety. Whether we are resuming office routines or embarking on this experience for the first time, the Hyundai Kona is prepared to accompany us on this journey. It provides a range of connectivity and convenience features that enhance the driving experience.

After unveiling the advertisement, Hyundai plans to exhibit the Kona and Kona EV through ongoing promotions throughout the 2023 football season. Additionally, they will secure prominent sports positions in baseball and soccer games this autumn.

To back up this initiative, Hyundai will also share personalized, social media-driven content on all of its platforms. This content includes a video titled "Thursday Night Journey," which will premiere on September 7, before the game starts. The video showcases the experience of a football enthusiast as he rushes to reach home before the game begins. Every aspect of this campaign aligns with Hyundai's pioneering strategy to create engaging content that resonates with audiences by providing relatable moments right in their social media feeds.
