Air Canada Issues Apology to 2 Passengers Escorted Off Plane After They Had to Sit in Seats Covered in Vomit
Air Canada issued an apology to a couple of travelers who were asked to leave the aircraft owing to their seating arrangement being affected by uncleanliness caused by an incident of vomit during the previous journey.
Susan Benson, another person who was on the flight from Las Vegas to Montreal on August 26, shared the story on Facebook after three days.
Observing a rather unpleasant scent, Benson mentioned that the individuals ahead of her, consisting of two ladies and a gentleman, were facing difficulties in finding their seats due to a prior passenger's unfortunate incident of throwing up nearby.
Supposedly, Air Canada made an effort to hastily tidy up before passengers boarded, but it's evident that they didn't manage to conduct a meticulous cleaning. Benson alleged that they deposited coffee grounds in the seat pocket and used perfume to disguise the odor.
Benson recounted how "the visibly disturbed passengers attempted to communicate with the flight attendant, highlighting that the seat and seatbelt were soaked and there remained noticeable traces of vomit in their vicinity."
Nevertheless, the flight attendant, who was extremely apologetic, expressed that there were no available solutions to fix the issue since the flight had reached its maximum capacity.

Benson expressed that the travelers conveyed their disbelief at the idea of enduring the presence of vomit throughout the five-hour duration. He further mentioned that they engaged in a back-and-forth discussion for a few minutes. Eventually, the flight attendant approached her superior, who reiterated the same response to the three passengers.
Upon begrudgingly obtaining blankets, sanitizing cloths, and receptacles for vomit as they had asked, Benson remembered the pilot strolling through the airplane's central passage towards the designated area. There, he proceeded to serenely lower himself to the ground and informed the two women that they possessed a pair of alternatives.
"They had the option to voluntarily disembark from the aircraft and arrange alternative flights at their own expense, or they would be accompanied off the plane by security personnel and added to a list banning them from future flights!" Benson exclaimed. "When they inquired about the reason, he claimed they had been impolite towards the flight attendant. Absolutely not the case! They were distressed and assertive, but never rude!"
As mentioned in the Facebook post, the two ladies were accompanied by security personnel to disembark the plane. "Why? Simply because they refused to endure sitting in a pool of vomit for a lengthy five-hour duration!" Benson elaborated further.
"Air Canada practically demands passengers to endure sitting in vomit or face removal from the aircraft and the potential inclusion in a list prohibiting them from future flights!" the message further stated. "I lack any knowledge regarding the actual placement of these individuals on the no-fly list. I am constantly disturbed by the circumstances surrounding these two women, who were innocent in this situation."
Air Canada expressed regret to CNN, The Associated Press, and The Washington Post, stating that the airline acknowledged their failure to provide the expected level of assistance to the passengers.
"We are currently investigating this significant issue internally and have personally contacted the customers involved since our established protocols were not adhered to properly on this particular occasion," stated the report according to various sources. "We continue to remain in communication with them regarding this situation."
PEOPLE's request for comment from Air Canada was left unanswered promptly.
